A Gorgeous Antique French Silver and Crystal Sugar Casket by ‘Maîtres Orfèvres’ Augustin Pierre Adolphe VEYRAT & Fils.

The white crystal bowl is beautifully worked in the Intaglio Style, showing floral scrolls and leaf garlands, as well as little rosettes on the lower part.
The crystal bowl rests on a solid silver pedestal decorated by a tiny beaded gadroon line and ending on four silver feets that each show an acorn and floral scrolls.
The two silver handles rise gracefully on each side, arcing into floral scrolls and ending in a silver rosette.

The lid is particularly lovely, showcasing a gorgeous ‘guilloché’ work enclosed in a silver beaded gadroon circle, while the finial is in the shape of a beautifully rendered periwinkle resting on a crown of slightly raised leaves and flowers.
It is marked with a Monogram showing the letters C & M.
The piece is in an excellent condition with only a very minor mark on the lid.
