Gorgeous and intricate Antique French Silver And Vermeil (18 carat gold) 14 piece Ice Cream Set or Flatware Service by ‘Maitre Orfèvre’ Henri LAPEYRE.
This very special set is in an amazing condition, really a work of art!
It features 12 individual spoons and 2 service pieces.

All pieces showcase the Rocaille style, and are decorated with an amazing delicacy with shells and floral scrolls details.
The spoons bowls attach to the handles by a lovely stylized shell and floral scrolls.
The inside of the spoons is decorated by an engraved stylized wave and floral scrolls.

The service spoon shows the same décor, albeit a bit larger, while the knife is decorated with matching floral scrolls and acanthus leaves.
The details are incredibly refined and delicate, just gorgeous.

The individual spoons are 6.2 inches long
The Service Spoon and Knife are respectively 9.6 and 10.8 inches long.
The service spoon and knife are in Silver and ‘Vermeil’ or gold plated silver.
There is no wear to the vermeil which is very subtly applied.

The set was originally devised for ice cream, but can be used as a dessert set as well. The spoons are great to handle, with perfect balance, a lovely way to add a little something to your dessert!

The Hallmark is Minerve 1 -1st title (950/1000)- 1838 to 1919– Paris

The Makers Mark is for ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Henri LAPEYRE
His Mark was registered in November 19th 1895 and cancelled in 1923. It features an H and an L separated by a spoon surrounded by two crescents.
Lapeyre had taken over from Pierre Gavard. He specialized in larger sets and had his offices at 49 Rue Meslay in Paris.
