Gorgeous Antique Silver Salad Serving Set By Ernie~Sold~

Gorgeous Antique French Silver Salad Serving Set or Serving Implements by Maître Orfèvre Ēdouard ERNIE.

The full pieces are in solid silver which is beautifully carved.
That detail makes them rather rare, as usually salad service sets had either carved horn or ivory tines and bowl.
The handles are beautifully worked in the Louis XVI style with delicately carved acanthus leaves and rosettes as well as ‘Rocaille’ style waves on the border.
The bowl and tines are incredibly beautiful, with exquisite high relief work on both. The carvings paint gerberas, sunflowers, acanthus leaves, rosettes and floral scrolls.

All in all, a lovely piece, very different from those we are used to seeing around! The work is exquisite!
An absolutely gorgeous set which balance perfectly in your hand!

The width given above is taken at largest part of the bowl.

The Hallmark is Minerve 1 -1st title (950/1000)- Hence 1838 to 1919 – Paris
