A Gorgeous French Restoration Period Gilt and Patinated Bronze Candlesticks.

Dating to Circa 1815 this Pair is beautifully decorated with the contrasting bronzes enhancing the décor.
The show two Putti holding up the shafts in the form of an arrow, which in turn carry a double light held up by Ormolu Griffins.
The details on the griffin heads are gorgeous.

The Cherubs each also hold a different attribute, respectively an axe and the other a club.
The Putti rest on an hexagonal patinated base which is applied with the head of an Egyptian figure and palmettos all done in ormolu to contrast the darker base.

The decoration is typical of the early 19th century, right after the first Empire, were neo-classism ruled the arts and architecture.
