A Gorgeous Antique French Gold Plated Silver (or Vermeil) and Crystal Salad Bowl by ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Charles Vincent.

The crystal is beautifully wheel cut for a striated effect and in a star formation at the bottom.
The upper part of the Bowl is lined in an delicate band of Gold Plated Silver or Vermeil in French, showcasing a beautiful iris wreath worked in the Art Nouveau Style.

Though we describe it as a Salad bowl it can be used in a variety of ways: for fruits salads or other salads, or even as a punch bowl per example.
The piece is in an excellent condition, no chips no marks just perfect!

The Hallmark is Minerve 1 -1st title – Hence 1838 to 1919 – Paris

The Makers Mark is for ‘Maîtres Orfèvres’ Charles VINCENT.
It shows his initials separated by a weight.
Charles Vincent registered his mark on in January 1889. He was well known for silver mounted crystal pieces.
He was located at 47 Rue des Blancs-Manteaux in the Marais area of Paris.
