Gorgeous Patinated Bronze Statue of a Scottish Terrier by Richard Fath

A gorgeous representation of a Scottish Terrier dog done in Brown Patinated Bronze by famed animal sculptor Richard Fath.
The liveliness of the statue is striking, the expression on the dog face full of life, to the point where you expect the dog to prance on his ball or run towards the thing he is looking at!
The fur coat is beautifully chiseled, a beautiful rendition of a Scottish Terrier.

Richard Fath was a celebrated sculptor who devoted part of his artistic output to animals, particularly dogs.
A pupil of Jean Boucher and a friend of Paul Belmondo, he exhibited from 1925 onwards in numerous Parisian Salons.
Translating his highly sensitive art into wood, plaster, terracotta and bronze, he represented over 60 breeds of dog for private clients, kennel clubs, the SCC and the French Ministry of Agriculture.
Present in several French museums, Fath is the subject of numerous exhibitions, he has left an exceptional bestiary, a testimony to the artistic representation of animals in the first half of the 20th century.

Our Statue is signed on the Terrace ‘FATH’ and also bears a Foundry mark.
A lovely piece.
