Gorgeous Set Of 18 French Silver Oyster Forks By Lapar~Sold~

An absolutely gorgeous suite of 18 Antique French Silver Oyster Forks, by ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Léon LAPAR.

The forks are decorated with an absolutely gorgeous silver scales works on the elongated handles with each end topped by a beautiful spray of acanthus leaves.
The front of the handle is slightly ‘Amati’ or dulled in French by pinpoints of silver on the front side while the back is smooth.
The end of the handle has a little acanthus leaf from which sprouts two laurel branches.
The forks are solid silver and the work is quite incredible.
Just gorgeous!

The fork is linked to the handle by a spread of acanthus leaves.
They are perfect to hold and handle with a really great shape.

Each fork has both the Minerva 1 silver title as well as the Makers Mark.
They are in perfect condition.

The height given is that of one fork.

The Hallmark is Minerva 2-2nd title (800/1000) – 1838 -1919 – Paris

The Makers Mark is for Léon LAPAR, who registered his mark in 1878 and cancelled it in 1897.
The mark shows his 2 initials crossing over a goldsmith’s chisel.
His workshop was located 16 rue de Choiseul in Paris.
