A Gorgeous French Silver and Crystal Salad Bowl and Presentation Plate by ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Paul Tallois.
The crystal is beautifully worked with ‘Intaglio’ motifs of floral garlands and Acanthus leaves and in a star formation at the bottom.
The upper part of the Bowl is lined in an delicate band of Silver, showcasing a lovely acanthus leaves and rosette décor.
The Presentation Plate shows the same décor.
The Bowl also bears a JB monogram making it part of the same service as the 6 wine coasters featured by Tallois in the Silver Serving Sets. They were purchased from the same family.
Though we describe it as a Salad bowl it can be used in a variety of ways: for fruits salads or other salads, or even as a punch bowl per example.
The piece is in an excellent condition, no chips or marks just perfect!
The bowl width is 9.74 inches and it is 4.33 inches deep.
The plate is 10 inches wide.
The measures given below are for the full piece.
