Gorgeous Silver And Vermeil Seashell Shaped Cup By Doyen

A Gorgeous Seashell Shaped Cup in Antique French Silver and Vermeil by Maitre Orfèvre François Julien DOYEN.

This cup might have been part of a set but on its own it is striking!
Resting on a Silver pedestal lined with larger gadroons and a scalloped rim, the cup itself represents a beautifully rendered Seashell in the Louis XV style.
The inside of the Seashell is lined with 18 carat gold or Vermeil.
The edge of the seashell is topped by a beautiful large acanthus leaf carefully carved out and showing a light guilloche to a lovely effect.
The edge of the cup is monogrammed with the letter V surrounded by scrolls.

This would have been used to present fruits or sweets! It looks ravishing also displaying a nice collection of chocolates!

It is in beautiful condition with no marks or dents. Just gorgeous!
