Large 18th Century Silver Sugar Sifter Spoon By Théodore Joseph Hardy

A gorgeous and very large 18th Century French Silver Sugar Sifter Spoon by Maître Orfèvre Théodore Joseph Hardy from the City of Lille.

The bowl of the spoon is in beautiful ‘repercé’ motif showing a Rose Window cut out.
The center decorated with teardrops and tulips while the rest of the bowl is decorated with acanthus, cornflower and tulip motifs.
The end of the handle shows a simple double line.

The work is extremely refined and the piece is in very good condition.
The handle bears a B S monogram.
It is just a perfect design. Typical of the early to mid 18th century.
Lovely to use to sprinkle sugar over fresh strawberries per example!
The width given above is that of the spoon’s bowl.
