Lively XIX Century Ink Drawing Of A City Harbor

A fine rendition of a boats and sailors gathered in a old port city.
The Boat featured could indicate the scene is taken somewhere in the Loire Valley. The large and rather flat bottom of the boat typical of that location.

The House depicted on the right shows a cute tower or gabion leaning out towards the river.
The use of Ink and brown wash is very delicate a spot on. It highlights to perfection the scene depicted.
In the distance one can glimpse a old castle rising on a hill, while another boat appears on the right hand side with its sails up.

This charming scene is signed and dated on the right hand side: Isabelle de B…..1847.
First identified as Isabelle de Bourbon, a closer examination of the signature lets us thin k it is not correct.
We are still trying to identify it and will updated the description when we do find it.

Our drawing has the following dimensions:
The Drawing is 7.08 inches wide by 4.33 inches high
The Frame is 14.56 inches wide by 11.81 inches high

It was acquired in Paris in March 2018
The frame is in very good shape lightly gilded and in perfect shape – typical of the early 19th century.
