Louis XV Style Silver Hors D’Oeuvres Service Set By E Ziegler

Lovely Antique French Silver ‘Hors D’oeuvres’ Service Set by ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Emile ZIEGLER.

The Hors D’oeuvre Service Sets were usually sold separately from the ‘Ménagère’ and tailored to order.
One could choose between different implements on offer ranging from several types of olive and gherkin spoons to pate slice or servers, butter knives and sardine forks.

This lovely set takes after the Louis XV style of decoration, or Rocaille with the handles manually carved out in floral scrolls, ending with a lovely design of a cherub’s head in the clouds.
The work on the spoons and blade bodies is an absolutely gorgeous design of geometric and floral cut outs, done with an incredible delicacy!

Starting by looking at the full picture of the implement set(1st picture) on the top side we have a sardine fork (7.08 inches long).
Second from top comes the pickled vegetables ladle (7 inches long), followed by the Olive spoon (7 inches long).
The last piece is a pate knife/server(7.28 inches long).

All pieces are in great state! No marks or losses to the silver
They come in their original fitted box which is in good condition.
