Louis XVI Silver & Crystal ‘Jardiniere’ By A Hector~ Sold~

A gorgeous and impressive piece of Louis XVI style French Antique Silver ‘Jardinière’ by Alfred HECTOR!
The ‘Jardinière’, or center table if you would rather, was used in a variety of ways in order to embellish the table, by either setting flowers or fruits or other items that could enhance the set up. I use mine during dinners with Peonies or Cala Lilies and the effect is incredible! But you can use it in many other ways: to present fruits of course or sweets, to present caviar, or simply to decorate with a free standing candle in the middle of the table – The candles will bring out the cobalt blue of the crystal to an amazing effect!

This particular piece shows a lovely cut out work on the gallery which holds the cobalt blue crystal insert. Pictured are delicate crowns and garlands of laurel leaves as well as elegant medallions. The first design is then enclosed in a refined silver pearl like ovals line, while the upper and lower fringe showcases acanthus leaves.
The work is exquisite and very refined, elegant yet striking!

The cobalt blue insert is in prefect condition no chips or scratches and is original to the piece. The silver gallery is in great condition with only 2 petals of laurel missing-It does not really affect the piece – but if needed we can send you a picture of the two details.
The height given above is that of the complete piece, the height of the Silver Gallery is 2.8” . The Depth given above is that of the crystal insert.

The Hallmark is ‘Minerve’ 1 -1st title – 1838 -1919– Paris
