Lovely French Silver Bonbons Service Set By Lefebvre~Sold~

A Lovely Antique French Silver And Vermeil ‘Bonbons’ (Candy) Service Set by Eugene LEFEBVRE.

Though called a Bonbons Service Set, these pieces were more considered as dessert service sets and could come with several different implements.
This complete set is in its original box, which is in good condition.

The pieces are etched with a beautiful Louis XVI Design Of floral scrolls and roses delicately presented.
The handles are gorgeous., and extremely delicate.
The work on the spoon cup and fork tines is also very delicate with floral scrolls and acanthus leaves etched into the silver.
Both the tines and spoon bowls are covered with 18 carat gold.

Starting by looking at the full picture of the implements, on the left hand side we have a creme spoon. Designed with a gorgeous swirling pattern measuring 5.19 inches
The second implement is a fondant server with a gorgeous cutout decor, it is 5.90 inches long.
The third implement is a delicate Sugar tongs measuring 5.11 inches long.
The fourth implement is a bonbons spoon which stands 5.55 inches long.
The last implement is a Candied Fruit fork; also measuring 5.55 inches.
All pieces are in perfect state.

The Hallmark is Minerva 1-1st title – 1838 -1911 – Paris

The Makers Mark is for ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Eugène LEFEBVRE and shows an E and an L separated by Swan pierced by an arrow.
The Mark was registered on March 9th 1896, and cancelled on June 11th, 1910.
His shops were located 14 bis Rue des Minimes in Paris

However the pieces are enclosed in a box that belonged to his older borther: Charles LEFEBVRE Fils Aine who registered his mark in December 1885 and won a Gold medal for his work during the 1889 World Trade Fair in Paris.
