Lovely Antique French Silver Coffee Spoon Set By Berthier~Sold~

lovely Antique French Silver Tea or Coffee Spoons Set of 12 pieces with a Vermeil or 18 carat gold finish by ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Philippe BERTHIER a well known flatware maker during the first half of the 1800s.
The spoons are absolutely flawless and show a refined chiselled décor of grapes and grape vines that decorate the end of the handles as well as its its length.
The back of the spoons shows the same design with a lovely grape bunch linking the handle to the bowl of the spoon.

No dents on the spoons and very little wear to the vermeil.
They are featured in their presentation box.

The Hallmark is ‘Minerve’ 2 -2nd title – 1838 -1919– Paris
The second title silver was often used in Vermeil or Gold coated items and is the only time you will see second title silver on our website.

The Makers Mark is for ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Philippe BERTHIER showing a P and a B divided, by a walking duckling facing to the right.
His mark was active between 1841 and 1851.
