Lovely Antique French Silver and Vermeil Dessert Service Set by Paul Canaux & Cie.

Comprised of 20 pieces, decorated on the handle with a beautiful carving of a bagpipe, ribbons and floral scrolls, in the Directoire style.
The set features 12 individual little spoons and several serving implements which include:
Sugar tongs, Ice cream Spoon and Server, Candied Cherry fork, a beautifully carved Bonbon spoon, a Berry spoon, Sugar Sifter Spoon.
It also contains an ebony handle butter knife.
All service pieces, apart from the butter knife. sport a gorgeous Vermeil or 18 carat gold was finish which is intact.
We are adding a silver salad service set in the same design.

All pieces are in great state! No marks or losses to the silver. The work on them is just exquisite!
They come in their original display box which is in very good condition!
The Salad implements measure 10.45 and 10.23 inches long.
The individual spoons measure 5.31 inches.
The Sugar sifter spoon measures 7.71 inches.
The Ice Cream spoon and Server knife measure 9.64 and 11.61 inches long.
The Bonbon Spoon measures 5.70 inches.
The Berry Spoon measures 5.50 inches.
The Candied Cherry fork measures 5.50 inches.
The Sugar tongs measures 4.72 inches.
Lastly the Butter knife measure 7.67 inches long.

All pieces are monogrammed with AH.

The Hallmark is Minerva 1st title- (950/1000) 1838/1919 – Paris

The Makers Mark is for Paul CANAUX and shows a P and a C followed by cie with an anvil underneath.
Paul Canaux registered his mark on April 1892 and held shop at 30 boulevard Malesherbes in Paris.
