A Lovely Antique French Silver Mustard Pot By Ambroise MIGNEROT in the Empire Style.

The upper register of the mustard pot showcases a curled wave design and the top part an extremely delicate acanthus fringe.
The lower register features gothic style pillars and hold a medallion still waiting for its owners’ initials.
The interior is in cobalt blue glass and may have been a later replacement, but still fits the piece perfectly.
The lid shows the smae delicate acanthus leaf wreath and is slightly dome shaped, topped by a silver berry shaped finial.
The silver handle is typical of the Empire style designs.

The beautiful Hallmark is 1st Coq – 1st title (950/1000) – 1798 -1809 -Paris

The Makers Mark is that of Ambroise MIGNEROT.
Ambroise MIGNEROT’s Makers Mark shows an A and an M with a ‘nacelle’ topping the letters and a dot underneath them. His mark was registered in 1800 and canceled (biffe) in 1818. His offices were first located 2 rue Jean Robert, then 62 Rue du Temple. Ambroise MIGNEROT took under his wing a young Denis Garreau that would later inherit his offices.
