Lovely French Silver And Porcelain Tea Caddy by Maîtres Orfèvres TETARD Frères.

This charming and very rare Tea Caddy in the Regency Style showcases an interior in Porcelain in the kind often used by the East India Company in the late 1800s and early 19000.

The polychrome design on the porcelain is beautifully executed with palmettos and roses.
The Silver container and Stopper are decorated with shell designs and acanthus leaves with a gadroon line at the bottom.

Tea caddies were a rarity in France, hence the importance of our lovely item which is in perfect condition…
A rare find.
The silver weight given does not include the inner part of the stopper which is not removable from the porcelain vessel.

The Hallmark is Minerve 1 -1st title – Hence 1838 to 1919 – Paris

The Makers Mark is for TETARD FRERES which was registered in 1903.
It shows a kettle with TF res underneath.
TETARD FRERES took over from Edmond Tétard.
They were located 4 rue Beranger at the limit of the Marais part of Paris.
