Lovely Antique French Silver Liquor Service set composed of 6 silver tumblers and one silver platter by ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Charles BARRIER.
The upper part of the silver liquor tumblers is lined with an elegant tulip garland on an ‘Amati’ or Matted’ base.
The same floral garland can be found on the platter, also backed by an ‘Amati’ base.
The interior of the tumblers is lightly covered by 18 carat gold.
The work is very elegant and the pieces are in excellent condition with no marks or losses.
They come in their original silk lined presentation box which is in excellent condition.
Dimensions given above are those of the Liquor Tumblers.
The platter measures are as follows:
Length: 8.5 inches
Width: 5.3 inches
The Hallmark is Minerve -1st title (950/1000) – 1838 -1919-Paris
The Makers Mark is for Maitre Orfèvre Charles BARRIER and shows an C and a B separated by a Gaiter topped by a Star.
The mark was registered in 1905 in Paris, and was cancelled in 1923.
