Lovely Ormolu And Alabaster Cartel Clock In Louis XVI Style

A Lovely and delicate Ormolu and Alabaster French Cartel Wall Clock in the Louis XVI Style, circa 1880.

It is formed as a round bronze body housing the movement suspended from an ormolu ribbon swag with a bow crest.

The Alabaster body has decorations of Ormolu laurel leaves at the top and the bottom the bottom, along with an ormolu pearl line circling its edge.

The dial is 2.16 inches in diameter and is porcelain enamel on bronze with beautifully fretted and incised gilt brass hands. The French movement is of high quality and is by Bourdet from St Etienne.
The dial is enameled with a lovely décor of rose garlands and Arab numerals.

The Original gilding is gorgeous and absolutely pristine
The clock is in excellent condition having been revised by a clockmaker specializing in Antiques.
It comes with a suitable key.
