Lovely Set Of 6 Individual French Silver Butter Plates by ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Emile Gouffe.

These 6 small plates are simply and elegantly worked with a ribbon tied reed line on the border and a line of silver pearls on the edges.

These charming little plates can hold butter or a small roll, or be used to set a macaroon to be served along with coffee at the end of the meal ou a ‘bouchée’ at the start of the meal!
They come in their original presentation box, which is in excellent condition, from Lenoir the store who sold them, located 14 Rue Royale in Paris.

The Hallmark is Minerve 1 -1st title (950/1000) – 1838 to 1919 – Paris

The Makers Mark is for ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Émile GOUFFE and shows an E and a G separated by a violin.
Émile GOUFFE’s mark was registered n October 19th, 1901.
His address was listed as 32 rue de Richelieu in the first arrondissement in Paris, just beside the Palais Royal.
