A Very Lovely Set Of 8 Restauration Style Decorated French Silver Knife Rests.
This lovely Set of 8 knife holders is decorated in the Restauration style with a gorgeous acanthus leaves and floral garlands as well as the Quiver and Flame so dear to that period.
The center rod is delicately striated.
Each piece is quite heavy and very stable as well as truly lovely.
The knife holders became more popular towards the middle of the 19th Century, the symbol of a table perfectly set up.
Our Knife Holders are perfectly balanced, very elegant and in perfect shape.
The Hallmark is Minerve 1 -1st title (950/1000) – Hence 1838 to 1919 – Paris
The Makers Mark is unfortunately not readable.
