Rare Antique French Gilt Silver Cocktail Stirrers by Linzeler

A rare set of 12 Antique French Vermeil Individual Cocktail Stirrers by ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Robert Linzeler.

Done in heavy silver with a beautiful 24 carat gold wash these instruments are extremely rare as a set.
Done in the louis XVI Style they show a lovely vermeil raspberry at the end of the handle, while the stirring part is made on an oval part shaped form created by heavy vermeil bars.
The gold wash is intact and heavily applied.
Each piece is signed and shows both the Makers Mark and the Hallmark.
The wands are in heavy silver and fit perfectly in the hand.

A very rare find, and a collector’s item. The set comes in its original presentation box.

The Hallmark is Minerve -1st title (950/1000) – 1838 -1919-Paris

The Makers Mark is for Robert LINZELER and shows an R and an L topped by a royal crown.
LINZELER registered his mark on April 14th 1897. His offices where located first at 68 rue de Turbigo, then 4 Rue de la Paix and finally 9 Rue D’Argenson in Paris.
Prior to him ‘LINZELER Frères’ had a store 15 Rue de la Madeleine in Paris from 1870 to 1880.
Robert LINZELER received several gold medals for his cutlery collection and his ‘Pieces de Forme’ during the 1900 World Fair in Paris.
