Rare Pair Of Antique Silver Mustard Cellars By Bourguignon~Sold~

A Beautiful and Rare Pair Of Antique French Silver And Vermeil Mustard Cellars By Pierre BOURGUIGNON.

Imitating Antique Amphoras they stand on a high round pedestal, and show the Palais Royal Style of décor on the main body.
This style was inspired by the Colonnade that graced the inner courtyard of the now destroyed Palais Royal in Paris.
Very graceful it gives lightness and delicacy to the design of the two pieces.

The arcade style décor opens onto the Gilt Silver inserts. The Center of the décor bears a shield with an FR Monogram.
Both pieces shares the same Greek style handles and the same olive shaped finial on a terraced lid.
The details on both pieces are lovely.

They are intact, and the gilt silver is perfect!

His Mark was registered the first time on May 27th 1789, at the cusp of the French Revolution, then again in 1798 under the new system.
