Rare Set Of 12 Antique French Silver Oyster Forks By Debain

A very particular Antique French Silver set of 12 Oyster Forks by ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Alphonse Debain.

This set comes in its original box, which is in very good condition.
This model is actually quite rare. We had to research several antique French silversmith catalogues to find the purpose.
We finally found the style in one of Louis COIGNET’s catalogues. It is indeed an oyster fork, though the model was definitely not common!
The pieces are decorated with Art nouveau etchings and carving of flowers and water reeds.
The forks are great to hold with a perfect balance.
All pieces are in great state no losses or marks, just lovely!

The Hallmark is Minerve 1 -1st title (950/1000) – Hence 1838 to 1919 – Paris

The Makers Mark is for ‘Maitre Orfèvre’ Alphonse DEBAIN and shows an A and D separated by a standing Woodcock.
