An absolutely Superb set Of Four Antique French Silver And Crystal Presentation Plates by Georges BOIN.

Mainly used to display Hors d’Oeuvres these lovely plates are seashell shaped in heavy and beautiful crystal!
The crystal is hand blown slightly ridged on the extremity to better protray natural shells.

The four plates rest on oval pedestal circled by solid silver. The holding end of each plate is decorated in Silver with a gorgeous Conch shaped in all its beauty, surrounded by delicately rendered silver water reeds.
The four pieces are gorgeous and quite rate to come by.
The are numbered on the pedestals from 576 to 581.
they are in perfect shape! No losses to the silver or the crystal, just gorgeous.

The Hallmark is Minerve 1 -1st title (950/1000) – Hence 1838 to 1919 – Paris

The Makers Mark is for Georges BOIN and was registered in 1868. He was the Grandson of the Manager of a Paris legend in terms of Fine Art Stores: L’Escalier de Cristal’ who belonged to Madame Desarnaud.
In 1873 Georges BOIN struck a partnership with Emile TABURET and went on to an incredible carrier under BOIN-TABURET.
Objects marketed under his own mark are extremely rare and precious!
His mark shows a G and a B separated by a stool.
