XVIII Century French School Watercolor Study Of 3 Cupids~Sold~

Charming XVIII Century French School Watercolor Study of 3 Cupids or Putti.

Set in an oval form, the study depicts three young Cupids or Putti playing with flower garlands.
One of them is painted flying with adorable butterfly wings and preparing to lay a gold band on the central figure.
He holds in his hand a rose garland which flows to the two other figures.
Their chubby little bodies are drapped in flowing scarves.

The Putti are depicted in a classical garden, with gardening instrument thrown around them.
The charming scene is typical of the designs used in the 18th Century to decorate a fireplace or door mantel.

The gilt wood frame is original and intact.

The Frame is 11.41 inches wide and 9.44 inches high
The Watercolour is 7.48 inches wide and 5.51 inches high

The watercolour was purchased in Paris at Morel Auction House in December 2017.
