A Lovely Set of Antique French Silver and Crystal ‘Compotiers’ or presentation dishes by Maître Orfèvre Henri Soufflot.
The Crystal Bowls can be removed and are done in Baccarat crystal worked with a lovely star design underneath and a grapevine garland in ‘intaglio’ around the rim.
The solid silver mountings are decorated in the Louis XV Style with floral scrolls and shells
They can be used in a myriad way, from Fruit presentation to Compote bowls, to appetizer or even flowers decoration!
They are all in perfect condition!
A rare set to be found in this condition.
A nice weight of silver as well on the pieces with more then a kilo and a half.
The Hallmark is Minerva 1 -1st title (950/1000)- Hence 1838 to 1919 – Paris
The Makers Mark is for ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Henri SOUFFLOT.
It shows his initials topped by a rising sun with a star below.
He registered his mark in April 1884, taking over the workshop of from Henri Chenailler.
He cancelled his mark in November 1910.
His workshop was located 89 rue de Turbigo in Paris
