Rocaille Style French Antique Silver Fruit Presentation Plates by ‘Maitre Orfèvre’ Henri GABERT
The Presentation Plates are made entirely of silver with the center part circled by a painted waves décor typical of the rocaille style..
The Rim of the two plates is decorated in the Louis XV style of ‘Rocaille’, showing delicate seashell motifs and geometrical details as well as cartouches’ showcasing a branch of roses.
The Plates rests on 3 scrolls of solid silver decorated in the Rocaille style.
They can be used in a myriad way, from Fruit presentation to Cupcakes or Cake presentation.
They are both are in good condition! No chips or damages with only a slight age wear in the center of the plates.
The Hallmark is Minerve 1 -1st title (950/1000) – Hence 1838 to 1919 – Paris
The Makers Mark is for ‘Maître Orfèvre’ Henri GABERT
His Mark was registered on July 10th1882 and cancelled on January 25th 1901. It features an H and a G separated by a ‘Gabion’.
He held shop at 112 Rue de Turenne in the Marais part of Paris.
