A Lovely Antique French Silver ‘Baguier’, or Ring Tray, or Display Cup Featuring a playful Triton by Maîtres Orfèvres Olier et Caron.
The cup is hoisted on top of the Triton or Dolphin’s tail
The bocce balls are made with cultured pearls.
The work is exquisite, with the Triton beautifully detailed.
The Hallmark is Minerva 1 (1st title – 950/1000 silver) – Paris 1838 -1919
The Makers Mark is for Maitres Orfèvres OLIER and CARON
The Mark was registered in 1910 and shows the two initials with a rising sun above and a star underneath.
Their workshop was located at 33 Rue De Turbigo in the Marais area of Paris.
