A very Elegant Solid Silver Dessert Set Consisting of 12 Forks and 12 Spoons decorated in the Louis XIV Style.
Heled in their original wood presentation box, marked Dessert on top, this beautiful Set is in pristine shape!
The Handles are carved with floral scrolls and seashell décor, beautifully rendered.
The size is actually quite important for a dessert set, which makes it also usable for ‘Entremets’ or starter course.
As a dessert Set it could be paired perfectly with the Mother of Pearl and Vermeil Knives listed just before.
They actually came from the same household.
The Forks measure 6.67 inches long.
The Spoons measure 7.87 inches long.
The Hallmark is Minerva 1 – for 1st title Silver (950/1000) for Paris 1838/1919
The Makers Mark shows a C and a B with a Prince’s crown in the middle surrounded by 2 crescents.
We are still trying to identify it! A rare occurrence, but we have not given up and will update the page as soon as we have.
