A beautiful Pair of French Ormolu Cassolettes, dating back to the end of the First French Empire.
Done in chased, two tone bronze gilt and bright, they are ovoid shaped and beautiful chiseled with gadroons and palmettos.
The top part, or handles, features winged busts or winged figures of the God ‘Terminus’.
The Column base is decorated in its middle register with gerberas and rosettes nd rests on a simple square base.
The finial is shaped as a swan and can be removed to transform the piece in a candlestick.
A lovely item typical of the refined French Restoration Period.
Paris Circa 1815.
